Re: Show your boat

I used mine to send smoke signals....there was a place in Islamorada that would see my signals and send a boat out with beer & sandwiches.    ;D

Re: Show your boat

What am I missing?  Are the $200 buckets frowned upon?  Geoff, you know the school of business I come from and they are most certainly frowned upon!!!

Re: Show your boat

It seems like I always had my fly-tamer on board when it wasn't needed and it ended up doubling as a trash can.  On the days I really needed it, I would forget to put it onboard.  Go figure?

Re: Show your boat

Funny you mention the trash in regard to the Line Tamer... When I don't need it I have it. When I do need it, I don't have it. My current solution is a big round retractable basket... much wider than the line tamer but not as tall. (Forgot who makes it or how much it costs) It fits in the bow compartment of my Hell's Bay 16' and is out of way when I don’t need it.

However... regardless of my personal preference the "Line Tamer" is by far more popular and widely used at least in the Islamorada area than any other "commercial" stripping basket especially by fishing guides.

The biggest problem I see with the Line Tamer vs. the wider and lower retractable basket is the 're-cast.' If you miss the first shot and are lucky enough to have a second chance it's much harder and a distraction to strip the line into the narrower Line Tamer.

Frowned on or not... not sure.

And so the controversy rages...  :- Any more coments or replys on this topic should go to the Fly Fishing Board...

Re: Show your boat

That looks nice Geoff, but don't look at me to stand on the bow with a machete in order to get through those tight creeks and channels in the 'Glades.  You'll need a dredge to lead the way instead!    :laughing5:

Re: Show your boat

Hi fishingbrothers, here is my boat. A pontoonboat with a aluminium frame. This boat is so nice to fish from, lots of fun. Note the electric motor, approximately 2 horsepower and the fishfinder in the front of the boat. Now we`re talking. The next will be the radar and the cooler  ;D
The pontoon is 7 feet long and the ride is awsome!!! The boat is great, not okay but great!
