Uncrustables

Uncrustables

Anyone who loves PB & J should try these things...

At first, I was skeptical and thought...Oh, it's probably just for kid's lunchboxes and how could they leave out the crust?

Well, I tried them on a sponsored bike ride a few months ago (at the rest stops), and they're awesome ;D.  No mess, no fuss pre-packaged frozen PB & J that thaw in 30-60 minutes and last up to 10-12 hours.  They come in grape and strawberry (and also grilled cheese which I have yet to try, but sound pretty good).  They're great for taking on the boat when you need a quick energy fix.

Anyway, they come in boxes of 4, 10, or 15.
Bone Appetit' !

Re: Uncrustables

I usually buy a box of 10 each week....take 2 out each morning and by the time I get to work, they're thawed.   Breakfast!

Re: Uncrustables

Thanks GI-fisher... Highly recomended... perfect fishing cuisine.  ;D Love the PB and J...

For those of you that can't find the instructions for the grilled cheese, here they are:

Wrap grilled cheese Uncrustable in *aluminum foil, stop engine, remove outboard's engine cowling and place uncrustable inside engine. (in a safe place) Replace cowling and run engine at a moderate speed (3000 to 4000 RPM) for at least 15 minutes... stop engine, remove cowling again, find and unwrap Uncrustable... enjoy.  wink

*Using the enclosed microwave cooking sleeve is optional but be sure to remove the cellophane wrapper.

Re: Uncrustables

Pretty novel way to prepare the grilled cheese, Captain...

I wonder if that technique would work for 2 eggs over easy with home fries and a rasher or two of bacon!? wink  I guess after that 10-15 minute boat ride the eggs would end up pretty scrambled! wink

With all these new appliances (e.g. refrigerators) that come with built-in mp3 port, LCD-TV, stereo speakers, and all the bells and whistles, when are they gonna build a combination outboard engine/microwave/toaster oven?? ;D

Just curious...

Re: Uncrustables

At the risk of getting banned from the forum for straying too far from the theme of the board... does anybody know how many slices of bacon make up a "rasher?"

Well I guess that is an honest question after all this is the "Galley." wink

Re: Uncrustables

I believe it's 3 slices on average...depends on the diner/restaurant/eatery.

Re: Uncrustables

Any way you look at it... it would be hard to get by on just one rasher... smile
