Welcome to floridakeysflyfish.com FloridaKeysFlyFish.com - Islamorada, the Florida Keys... First and foremost we are a flats and backcountry fishing guide service. Our website is dedicated to fly fishing and light tackle in South Florida, the Florida Keys and the Everglades National Park; offering lots of features such as member registration. One of the great things about that is any member can become an author and submit articles to be published within categories of this site...just one of many new features. We think this is a unique way to involve you in our fishing community.
Present Day and the Past Most of the Florida Keys fishing guides are hard working professional Captains who use top quality fishing gear and utilize the latest technology in flats skiffs. Our fishing "season" is perpetual - 12 months a year and most of the fishing guides are full time. Once upon a time it was believed that a number of the legendary Florida Keys fishing guides were temperamental bullies. However back in those days - a long time ago, they were the only game in town and a unique breed of cat.
Fishing Methods and Gear Opinions will vary amongst most fishing guides; your guides knowledge, experience and willingness to travel and fish different areas will lead to greater success on all target species throughout our fishery. I believe that fishing should be fun regardless of the method you choose. In my opinion, you and your your fishing guides willingness to do whatever it takes to make the most of the fishing conditions is the key to success...
Fall 2009 Fishing October, November and December in the Florida Keys and Everglades National Park offers some of the best fishing anywhere in the world. The largest bonefish of the year make their presence known as well as permit, snook and redfish. With the cooler air and water temperatures, snook fishing in the Everglades starts to heat up; giving anglers a great option in the event of cooler and windy conditions associated with cold fronts.
Fly fishing and light tackle trips in the Florida Keys and Everglades Operating out of the Village of Islamorada in the Florida Keys, we guide our anglers just about anywhere in South Florida; fishing from Biscayne Bay to Key West, Marquesas and the Everglades National Park. We're a small group of dedicated full time fishing guides; Captains whose focus is on "sight fishing" and "poling" the flats and backcountry of the Florida Keys, Marquesas and Everglades for tarpon, bonefish, permit, snook and redfish.
Hells Bay Boatworks Hell's Bay Boatworks was formed by renowned Florida fishing guides Hal Chittum and Flip Pallot, along with visionary boat designer Chris Morejohn with one goal in mind … to build the finest fishing boats ever conceived. Merely improving conventional designs was not good enough. They wanted to make sweeping changes in design and construction that would revolutionize the shallow water fishing industry. And they accomplished this.

Operating out of the Village of Islamorada in the Florida Keys, we guide our anglers just about anywhere in South Florida; fishing from Biscayne Bay to Key West, Marquesas and the Everglades National Park. Guide Service

  • We are a small group of Florida Keys fishing guides; Geoff Colmes, Matt Pribyl and Al Polofsky. If you schedule a trip with us, you will fish with the guide you specify and schedule. If none of us are available, we will inform you and if you like we can then try to make a recommendation to other experienced fishing guides we know. You can call us (305)853-0741 or check our availibility via email using our online form. In most cases we'll get back to you the same day.

    Experience

  • We're dedicated full time Captains whose focus is on "sight fishing" and "poling" the flats and backcountry of the Florida Keys, Marquesas and Everglades for tarpon, bonefish, permit, snook and redfish. If you are interested in having a great time fishing with guides that are "mobile" and capable of guiding you to fish just about anywhere in the Keys and Everglades then you have come to the right place. Aside from guiding our own trips over the past twenty years plus, collectively all of us have logged thousands of hours aboard the mothership "Fishabout" in numerous adventures from the Everglades to the Marquesas.

    Flexibility

  • Novice to expert, families and kids, groups, corporate, or solo, we can match you with the fishing guide that suits your fishing style and requirements. All of us share the desire to work hard for our anglers and we love to get away to the more remote and less traveled areas. When we're not guiding, more times than not you'll find us (or maybe not) exploring the far corners of the everglades doing what we love to do… fishing.

    Diversity

  • All of us have our “niche” in regard to our methods of fishing and the target species that we specialize in stalking… from fly fishing, light tackle, extreme backcountry or just good old family fun. Our destinations range from inland lakes and canals for peacock bass to the entire span of the Everglades, no-motor zones, Florida Keys and Marquesas. Some of us have two different skiffs… some of us, three... necessary tools of the trade to enable us to guide in all the diverse fishing locations existing in South Florida.
Our fishing schedule fills up fast especially from October through July. Please try to contact us at your earliest convenience to assure you get the fishing dates you want. All of the Florida Keys fishing guides (backcountry and offshore) are required to be licensed by the USCG as Captains and conform to all safety regulations.
